Location
This photo was taken in Maui.Time
The shot was taken at the end of a very hot day. Because it was becoming dark, I was able to shoot with a slow shutter.Lighting
This was naturally lit. The setting sun rays were peeking through the overhanging branches. It made for beautiful refracted light on the surface of the water.Equipment
I used a nearby rock as a "tripod" to shoot with a long shutter speed. The camera was my trusty Lumix GX85 travel camera.Inspiration
The beauty of the waterfall was irresistable. I love nature photography (as you can tell from my gallery). However, I try to not shoot the average cliche photo. I am always looking for a photo with depth, texture and a small sense of disorder.Editing
I used Lightroom to adjust the uneven lighting of the original photo. I added a bit of spotlight to the water gathinerg in the bottom recess. I was tempted to remove the browning leaves, but I think nature shots should be left alone as much as possible. I think it lends to the credibility of the shot.In my camera bag
I travel light. I love M43! Camera: Lumix GX85 Lumix lenses: 42.5mm 30mm macro 100-300mm zoom Polarizing and UV filters.Feedback
