Crop establishment is one of the several process in rice cultivation. India and in many parts of Asia farmers practiced to prepare seedbed and transplant pre-germinated seedlings to the wet land. While this process involves more labours, men and women segregate their duties and work together. It is enchanting to listen to the folk songs sung by these farmer women in the groups to entertain themselves in the field. Many parts of Karnataka has different forms of folk songs passed through generations. These songs may vary based on discrete regions. Distinct set of songs sung while transplanting seedlings and harvesting makes the culture vitally prosperous.
