Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the edge of a field, at sunset, behind my home in Minnesota.

Time

This was taken during the golden hour.

Lighting

Only natural light was used for this photo.

Equipment

Nikon D750 with Nikon 28-300mm lens, handheld

Inspiration

I was outside enjoying the sunset and I wanted to capture a simplistic and calming image showing the beautiful golden hue.

Editing

I imported the file into Lightroom and only used very basic slider adjustments, including highlights and shadows, to brighten the image a bit.

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon D750 along. If I am shooting wildlife, I will have my Nikon 200-500mm, for portraits I use my Nikon 85mm, and my walk around or travel lens is my Nikon 28-300mm.

Feedback

To create a similar image with an out of focus background or Bokeh, keep the subject close to your camera and the background far away.
