This was taken on a bit of a disappointing wander around Holywell Bay - I think the summer photographer's block has finally got me!
Anticipating warm sunset colours, if not a blazing sky, I chose to head for Holywell. I had shot Carter's Rocks a few times before, so I was keen to try something different. I first looked for compositions in the dunes - and this was the only image I shot.
I then wandered the dunes to look for something new... And I found it! (I'll keep it quiet in case I revisit to try again). As I approached the centre-piece for my composition, skirting around it so as not to leave foot prints in the sand, a group of people walked straight up to it and sat in my shot!
Frustrating - but it's not MY beach, so what can you do?! Although if I'd seen another photographer approach the area, camera held up checking compositions, I would have stayed out the way.
After that, I struggled to motivate myself to find another composition, knowing that I missed something that could have been pretty decent by a matter of seconds.
As the sun set, I just wasn't fussed to take the same photos I've taken before on previous visits - Carter's Rocks or my usual foreground rocks - sea - sunset combo - so I just watched the sun set before going home!
