Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on my very short trip to Banff Alberta, while I was on a layover for 24 hrs there as I am a flight attendant. The photo is taken at Lake Morraine on a magical summer afternoon.

Time

The time was just a bit past noon, and even as we know this is not the best time for photography, it was the perfect time for me. Having just an hour or so to stroll around we decided to do a small lake tour, and took some amazing photos of the adventures around there.

Lighting

The hot summer day was inviting us to take a swim, but the glacier cold water put me off when I tried to dip my toe in it. Saw these boats passing by, and was envious on how lucky they are to spend the whole day here!

Equipment

I used the iPhone X for this photo, but taken some more on my Sony a7ii.

Inspiration

The happiness of the people in the boat, the light, the blue water, the mountains! Looked Like a painting that needed to be immortalised.

Editing

I did a bit of post processing in snapseed such as contrast and a bit of brush saturation , but not a lot of post processing was needed for this was nice straight out of the camera.

In my camera bag

Sony A7ii was back then now I have a 7iii with two or three lenses usually a wide-angle and a zoom lens with 1.8 or 2.8 aperture.

Feedback

Sometimes you need to capture the moment with what you have handier even if that is a phone! Some of the most amazing shots are on my phone!
