On a previous trip to the Cornish coast I had promised myself a return visit to catch the Lands End sunset. With the clouds looking promising I raced over there but had totally miscalculated the suns position...I could already see the sun approaching the horizon way in land to the north...Id gotten my times of year and sun position all wrong... so now I was determined to make the most of things...back in the car and and a dash up the coast to the UKs most westerly point...Cape Cornwall. Here the rock strewn beach and off shore islands offer a foreground variety to enhance a panoramic sunset...the colours were both vivid and pastel, the moods flowing through the seascape. Getting an angle still involved a scramble over the rocks but the outcome was more than a little rewarding...now I could relax and let the image catching go with the flow...a graduated filter was used to protect the blues and foreground details...the sun did the rest. Cape Cornwall... rugged and romantic.
