After this session of street portraits i realized that the camera is the least important element in my photography. I used to think a drug addict was someone who lived on the far edges of society. Wild eyed, shaven headed and living in a filthy squat. That was until I became one.. - (Kemp)

Behind The Lens

Location

The Portrait was taken outdoor on the tiresome notorious streets of Tsakane a Township on the far East Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa. Nicknamed "Mashona" (The Last Town. Part of a My on Going Portrait Home Series

Time

Shot taken 2017, in the afternoon on a sunny day. This is my most hood famous Portrait and many say my first self defining Portrait within my vicinity. After a week of interviewing my subject.

Lighting

nothing but natural lighting provided by the sunny day, allowing me to capture the crisp & the hard texture intended. As well as a reflector, directing more light to the subject.

Equipment

Just My First Camera , a gift from Pops. A nikon D50, 7 years ago

Inspiration

Finding Home & Self. Eager to Grow , evolve , connecting with the inner self. As well as the environmental impact/ influence by misguided or misleading media and television. After this session of street portraits i realized that the camera is the least important element in my photography. I used to think a drug addict was someone who lived on the far edges of society. Wild eyed, shaven headed and living in a filthy squat. That was until I became one.. - Nyaope Boy (Kemp)

Editing

Yes , Grading, to increase the depth & contrast on the colour adjustments to suit my desire look

In my camera bag

Two Cameras with different lense types. Laptop. Tripod.
