Location
I took this photo in Duck, North Carolina on the Bayside at the Sunset Grille.Time
I took this photo at 7:02 PM on May 22, 2019 just as the sun was setting. I took my camera to the "Sunset Grill Restaurant" on the bay in Duck as I wanted to capture sunset photos there. Unbeknownst to me when I took the photo that my daughter-in-law's brother died around the same time that I took this photo. That is why I named it "Brian's Sunset" as it was the sunset of his life. I love this photo in particular because I as able to capture the magnificent colors in the clouds that reflected in the water as well.Lighting
This was one of those perfect sunsets that the colors were so vibrant.Equipment
I used my Canon 5D Mark III camera with my EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens. I used an ISO of 400 in HDR mode.Inspiration
I went to this particular spot to capture the sunset at this time. It is usually one of the best spots in Duck to take sunset photos. I was fortunate that the weather and the sunset on that evening was a beauty to behold and capture.Editing
The only post-processing that I did on this photo was in Photoshop using the Curves filter on the clouds and the clouds reflection in the water. It was a very minimum amount. In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-105mm L f/4 Lens, Canon 70-300mm f/4.5 Lens, Canon 600EX RT Speedlite. Carry Tamron 150-600mm f/5.6 Lens and my tripod when needed.Feedback
Just always have your camera on hand and ready. Be aware of the weather conditions and places that would avail to you the perfect sunset...
