Location
Inside The Pantheon in Rome, Italy.Time
Early afternoon. The sun was highest in the sky meaning the light was bright through the sky light, improving the shadows on the roof interior.Lighting
The sky light in the roof was very bright and made excellent shadows on the roof alcoves. I felt black and white was the best way to present the photograph to capture the architecture of the roof.Equipment
Quite simply, my Galaxy Note 8 smartphone. Edited with Snapseed for the final picture.Inspiration
Inside The Pantheon there were hundreds of people. It was silent because talking was forbidden. The roof was the only place empty and made up more than half of the space inside the building. Shooting upwards I felt showed off the enormity of the structure and created the best photo. My inspiration was the peacefulness of the space despite the hundreds of people inside.Editing
Editing done on Snapseed direct on my phone. Converted to black and white, increased the sharpness and contrast, and cropped it to centre the whole using the rule of thirds. In my camera bag
Just my phone. Occasionally I take my Olympus OMD EM-10 MK2.Feedback
Be inspired to look elsewhere especially up! I love this photo. It shows the amazing architecture of this building.
