While on a hike in early spring we came upon some free roaming horses. While we stopped to look at them they began to form a circle around a colt. I listened and there were other hikers coming up behind us and some coming down from above us. Very interesting to watch. If you closely, you can see the colt inside the circle of protection formed by all the horses.
