The photo was taken in the Zaanse Schans Dutch town of Zaandam, near Amsterdam. It's historic village whet windmills and distinctive green wooden houses were relocated here to create the look of an 18th/19th century village. It is one of the most visiting places by the tourist in Netherland because the beautiful scenery. The windmills are located by the water and it's perfect place for many photographer's as well. I took it this photo on my first daily trip to Zaanse Schans on last day of March this spring.Time
This photo it's one of my favorite shoots from Zaanse Schans. I wish to get an accurate impression of the life in Holland in the 17th and 18th censure's. It's toked in the middle of the day after lunch time. Was really sunny but cold day.Lighting
I wanted this image to look as much natural as can be. Was middle of the sunny but windy day. I had all the natural lights. Originally I wanted this picture the sunset lights with stunning reflection on the water & beautiful colour of sky and the mysteries windmills … but Unfortunaly can't wait it for the sunset hours. I hope I will get this image in the future too.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony SLT A58 with an 55-300 mm f/14 lens ISO 100 1/125 s No other equipment's was involved.Inspiration
I know about this famous place Zaanse Schans (stunning windmills, beautiful scenery, interesting history, amazing sunsets and sunrise's (but for that I must stay for night or two … well it's always next time trip) I had 5 hours free soo I get on the trein from Amsterdam and get there. It's always thousand of tourist from all over the world coming there. Most of those people don't really look and admire those windmills, they just running and took as many selfies as they can. For me was much more , I love the history of this village, the scenery it's actually stunning no matter what time of the year. And it's something powerful about the windmills and water...Editing
I know that usually landscape photography requires a lot of processing . But I'm not one of those who's do the post processing. I did it add just a bit sharps and just bit contrast. Nothing else. I can honestly say that this shot it's almost natural as can bee.In my camera bag
When I'm shooting I have in my bug two cameras; Sony SLT-A58 with two lenses ; 55 mm and 300 mm Canon AOS 7D with 200 mm lens ( second hand) Two stativeFeedback
The daily trip to Zaanse Schans was really interesting for my. My advice? First walk and observe everything and just shoot. Then walk again and find your own spot avoid the people. Sometime it's took time but it's worth it.
