Back Together

Elderly male ex-circus tigers Mondo (left) and Girona mmeting up for the first time in nearly three weeks following an operation on Girona's forepaw. In order to speed his recovery, Girona had been in isolation in his nightquarters; Mondo was outside alone, often calling and occasionally going back in to check up on Girona. This was their reunion at an afternoon enrichment session. None of the few that witnessed this remarkable event can have any doubts that these two care about each other. Yes, they have their disputes and disagreements from time to time and sometimes want time alone, but, and not that deep down either, they love each other, as friends, you understand :-)

I took several photos of this encounter - they walked side by side like this for ten to fifteen seconds - and meant to post this shot but posted another from a few seconds before (well, it was very late...) which has been well received, so instead of taking that down, I have left it up and posted this, my favourite, as well.
