It was cold and damp, the air was still and I didn't have much longer until they would be marching around the corner to get me. I had to start this portal and get out! I found the lever to get it going and pulled it down, the machine began to whir and lit up with a big flash. It's ready now, I've set the year I must travel back to, 2019. They were at the end of the hall now and I had to go, they began firing at me as I sprinted with my bags to the portal, I jumped, everything went white and hazey. Colorful lights flew by and strange noises roared. Then everything stopped, I was in the front yard of my childhood house and everything seemed to be normal. My brother stepped outside and was much older than I remember, he came to me and said come on, it's safe here. You're safe.
