Location
I live in Panama City, FL. Martin Lake is in my backyard. After Hurricane Michael had blown through there are now several different bird species flying around. I had watched this particular Osprey flying around for 2 days. On this day I just happen to have my camera out on the tripod taking photos when he landed on top of a damaged tree in my backyard. He must have wanted his picture taken because it took me 15 mins to find the right spot to take this photo. This is one of my favorite shots.Time
This photo was taken midmorning. I had been shooting since sunrise. The sky was so clear and dark blue.Lighting
The lighting is all natural. At around 10 am the sun is just right in the sky. Not to bright and overpowering.Equipment
I used my Canon Power Shot SX170 IS. It is the first camera I bought. Ive owned it 8 years. The tripod was a second hand item given to me by my stepdaughter.Inspiration
The way he landed and was sitting on top of that damaged tree, he just looked so Majestic. Like a king surveying all that is his. It was so natural. Not staged or posed. Just one of those 1 in a million shots.Editing
This photo is raw. It went straight from my camera to my photo file in my computer. There is no post photo processing. In my camera bag
This is just an automatic camera I carry along with my other Canon EOS Rebel T3i. I carry in my bag an EFS 55-250mm lens and an EFS 18-55mm lens.Feedback
Im not a pro. All I can say is watch the natural lighting. Patience. It took me 2 days to get this one shot.
