Having been in bed for almost 24 hours with sickness on Friday-Saturday, I decided for a non-strenuous morning out today! I slept in until 7am (an hour after sunset) and stayed within a couple miles from home.

The overcast and rainy weather conditions were such that I hadn't missed an epic sunrise or the best light anyway.

This bluebell-lined river was found at Argal Lake. I've always liked to see other people's bluebell photos, but have never been inspired to seek out locations to photograph them myself (instead favouring more dramatic coastal spots) - maybe the sickness was a blessing in disguise, as now I have a shot of my own!

I used my Hoya polarising filter to bring out the colours with a Lee Soft Grad filter hand held over the top to knock back the brighter background. In post editing, I dialled the saturation back a little soften the tones.

Canon 6D MkII | 24-105mm lens at 35mm | ƒ-11 | 2 sec | ISO 100 | WB: Cloudy | Lee Soft Grad & Hoya Polarising Filters (taken 28-04-2019)
