I took this picture at the port in Pomorie. This is a small town in Bulgaria on the Black Sea coast.Time
I took the photo on April 13, 2019 at sunset, around 6:30 p.m. It was raining during the day and there was a lot of dynamics in the clouds. I have long dreamed of photographing boats on the beach and it was a big challenge for meLighting
I did not use any artificial lighting. The light was soft, natural. I had to act very fast because the clouds were moving, the sun was falling lower and lower. I saw the play of light and clouds in the distant horizon and decided to capture the moment.Equipment
For this photo I used my Fujifilm X-T1 camera, 18-55 mm lens, Benro tripod, Hoya ND1000 neutral filter and of course a remote control for a long exposure image.Inspiration
I was born in the lowlands, the sea and the mountains are far from me. I like to photograph the sea and everything related to it. I remember that we were here with friends who then went to shoot elsewhere, but I stayed in the harbor with my boats, the sky and the sunset. What could be better than that ...!Editing
I used minimal techniques to process the raw file: I warmed up the photo, increased the color temperature, gave more dynamics and contrast in the clouds and the sky, I remember using an additional sepia color filter. I only used Photoshop 2019 to process the file.In my camera bag
In my bag I have: Fujifilm X-T1, 18-55 mm lens, Hoya ND1000, Formatt_Hitech filters, remote control, CPL filter, 5 batteries, Benro tripod.Feedback
Anyone can take a picture like this, you just have to be in the right place at the right time. I didn't have any plan for this photo and I didn't do anything in advance, I just felt the moment when I was walking there at the port ... and I decided to try. Maybe I was really lucky, that's what others who stop by my gallery will say.
