With the bone-chilling cold of Nagaland, it was obvious why there were no herps around me. Yet I was stubborn enough to look for them. Then, I decided to go for yet another trail to find some reptiles and amphibians. 3 Hours counting and nothing. Our trail route was about to get over. We by now were ascending back to the village from the Community Conserved Area that the Village had notified. As the village lights became brighter our hopes of finding herps decreased. Then as the flash moved on a fern, I saw this. Finally relief to my eyes, a Jerdon's Forest Calotes.
