I created this wildlife picture of an American Alligator at the Circle B Bar Reserve today, April 13, 2019. I was searching for great wildlife pictures along the Marsh Rabbit Run Trail when I saw this alligator very nearly on the bank of the trail. Gators are a prime example of how the Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966 set the stage for the endangered species act of 1973 and granted critical protections to the nearly extinct American Alligator and about fifty other endangered species of plants and animals. The American Alligator is once again off of the Endangered Species list since about 1987. It is a very common sight at the Circle B Bar Reserve and many other locations in Florida.
