Location
This was taken on the walk down from the top stop of the Matterhorn cog train the observation post, a far better view than the official viewing spot higher up.Time
Late morning as the sun was fully up and a morning fog has just clearedLighting
This was THE most perfect natural light I have ever encountered for a scenic shot. Bright sun behind me and a once in a lifetime blue sky. The forecast was for overcast and steady rain. We were on a tour and had this one day to see the peak. I was so disappointed that the weather was going to hide the peak. The clear weather was literally a miracle.Equipment
Nikon 750, hand held.Inspiration
We were on a Bavarian tour on which I took over 5000 photos. This was the one shot I dreamed of and the conditions and the setting were miraculous. My goal was to get a great shot of the Matterhorn and I think I got it.Editing
I added a bit of blue tinting to pop the colors but the was pretty close to the untouched photoIn my camera bag

When you get a perfect day, take a lot of angles, looking for a unique view; this is an oft photographed peak, how can yours be different. When I saw this pool with the reflection, I knew this was a special shot.
