Location
I took this image in the passenger seat on my way for a holiday in the Drakensberg Range-South Africa with my family. It was my wife Elmarie's turn to drive, when ever she drives I always have a camera with me and I do 'drive by shooting as I call it' .This image is one of many I have shot .My best so far in motion .Time
The time of day was 10:45 AMLighting
I remember I was busy adjusting my camera and I looked up and told my wife "Look at those Clouds we are riding into a storm ! Wow what a shot ! The lighting is perfect ! I immediately took a couple of shots as we were driving into this amazing Landscape.Equipment
I used my Nikon D40 that I loved so much that I got for my 50th birthday. Unfortunately do not have it anymore Sadly it got stolen out of my Pik up .Inspiration
What inspired me ? The sheer Magnitude of the Clouds the Darkness and the Freeway leading into a destination!Editing
I used a filter in Lightroom that I tweaked until I got the desired effect. In my camera bag
In my shoulder bag that I always carry with me now is : Fugi X20 Love this camera, however the image quality on the D40 was better Mini tripod Old Minolta Auto 118X with slave attached to it Lens Pen Spare SD Card 8 inch Samsung Note Pad Spare BatteryFeedback
Always have a camera with you if you want to capture images in motion through the window of a moving vehicle. Use setting 's' or Manual but use a High speed setting and f 9- 10 works good .ISO 200-400 experimenting is always fun . That is what I love about Photography .If you see something and you like it shoot it !
