Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Lefkada town, Greece.

Time

As you can see from the shadows, it was about noon. Not quite ideal light conditions for taking pictures. My wife and I were on a vacation spending mornings and afternoons on a beach. So, what's left for taking pictures - high noon, but nevertheless, i managed to take some nice pictures.

Lighting

No. It was hard sunlight.

Equipment

Canon 5D Classic and my all round lens - 24-70 L.

Inspiration

Using boat as a frame, but in reverse manner - color and detail in frame are more important than the boat, which is blurred.

Editing

I always shoot RAW. That gives me room for post processing the way I want. For this shot - nothing unusual, a bit more blur to the already blurred background and a bit of detail and micro contrast to the boat.

In my camera bag

One or two bodies, two zoom lenses covering the range from 24mm to 200 mm, filters, flash ...

Feedback

Better camera don't make us better photographers. Be creative, find your angle, use DOF creatively, tell a story with your picture.
