Behind The Lens

Location

Well I had taken my kids on a trip to downtown to hang out and eventually meet up with my wife who works in Vancouver and while we were waiting for her to get off work we took a nice walk around the sea wall and I had planned to get to the other side of the park in time for the sunset as this is one of the spots that my wife and I had taken a walk when we were younger. Stanley park is a gorgeous park with a nice long sea wall around it. Beautiful place for a date or bike ride with kids or family.

Time

As one of my favorite shots and one I plan on trying my shot at again sometime in the future, I believe this was taken around five in the evening as we were coming around the wall.

Lighting

Primarily I was trying to capture the little island as the sun was going down and actually didn't realize just how colourful the sky was until I brought it into Affinity photo. I'm both pleased with the photo and now want to try to get a even better shot.

Equipment

I believe this was shot I used my Canon t6 or something like that. Off the top of my head I don't really remember. No tripod was used and neither was a flash. All just a quick shot as the sun was going down.

Inspiration

My kids wanted me to take a few shots of them playing and I had remembered that I had attempted to take a photo of this before and failed badly. Learning process I guess. One of the reasons why I would like to try again.

Editing

A bit of post processing in affinity photo. Just to bring out some of the color more and while I don't believe there was anything wrong with this particular photo I did remove my kids on another one just like it.

In my camera bag

I used my Canon but wish that I could afford a better one. I carry a few lenses and my camera with a tripod now.

Feedback

Don't give up, if can learn how to take some good photos then anyone can. Keep taking them and learn from others mistakes and hopefully you will be an awesome photographer. Plus just enjoy what you are doing and do it for yourself and no one else. There's bound to be others who like the same thing as you do.
