Communicate! No matter how long you know each other, 5 years or 5 minutes. You need to communicate in a pleasant atmosphere, even if you are shooting something sad. Use more natural diffused light, using low-light places as a background, this will give an extraordinary amount to your photos. And most importantly - only shoot those you really like. Think over the smallest detail, spend more time, even if there will be one shot, but of incredible quality.
