Shooting this world famous architectural triumph designed by Frank Gehry was high on my photography bucket list. I'm fascinated by Frank's design approach, having first seen his work in La Rioja at the Marques de Riscal vineyard.

I always had a slightly dark, monochrome take on the Guggenheim in mind, and the Basque Country weather certainly helped me out when we visited, with dark skies and constant rain accompanying us around San Sebastian and Bilbao.

I managed to keep the lens (and ND filters) dry for long enough to grab this long exposure shot, hoping to get a perfect reflection in the river, but the winds were slightly too strong for that. In the end I like how the shot turned out, with a slightly dark and turbulent feel.

Bilbao is such a great city I'm sure I'll be back there sometime soon, and next time I'll hope for some nice sunset colours instead :)
