Location
I took the Picture in Serengeti in TanzaniaTime
I went up early to go on a game drive. We started before sunrise and we all hoped to spot some lions on a kill they made during the night. But just as the sun went up I saw this Acacia and the savannah in the background and I had to take some pictures.Lighting
Morning and evening is the best time for wildlife and the light is also at its best at that time. In this case I wanted the sun low Before it had become to Bright and the sky in a Beautiful orange.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mk III and a Canon 100-400mm, nothing else.Inspiration
It was the tree that I wanted as a silouette against the orange sky. The Umbrella acacia is like a symbol for the East African Savannah and to get it with the sun behind was my goal.Editing
I try to do as much as possible the time I take a Picture. But I do some post-processing, but in this case I didn't have to do so much. I have adjusted the light so that the sun is not to bright and also some saturation. In my camera bag
I have two bodies, A Canon 1DX MkII and a Canon 80D, that I mostly use for macro since the display is foldable. And I have a range of lenses from Canon 17mm to a Canon 500/4L telelens. I also have a Canon 24-105mm, Sigma 70-200mm and a Sigma 150-600mm. And a 1.4x and 2x extender.Feedback
The most difficult, get up early. But you can take the same at sunset. A be aware of the sun, the image can easy be too bright.
