This photo was taken in a small village in Iceland. My husband and I were traveling the ring road and had heard from other travelers that this village was picturesque. It was a tad off the beaten path but well worth it!Time
This was taken in the afternoon on a typical cloudy day in Iceland. In the 10 days we were in Iceland we barely saw the sun at all. This was a good day because it wasn't raining.Lighting
This entire vacation was cloudy and rainy. This was one of the brighter moments on the trip. I actually think the clouds give it a subdued effect and that one bright beam across the valley gives great contrast . Mother Nature doing her thing.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3300, 18-55 mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I love reflection pictures and this one seemed to be as perfect as you can get. The houses were so brightly painted and one could not have asked for a better backdrop than that mountain with snow and cloud. I shot multiple pictures all around the periphery of the lake and this shot was my favorite.Editing
I am amateur all the way and don't do any post-processing. What you see in the picture is exactly what I saw.In my camera bag
Have a Nikon D3300 , 18- 55mm lens and 70-300mm lens. I use the 70-300 lens for wild life. That's about all. Real beginner here.Feedback
Years ago I had the pleasure of being on location with Thomas Mangelson. His best advice to me was just keep clicking away. He said out of 100 shots you are bound to get that one perfect photo. My husband and I love to travel and I love to take photos. Sometimes I get lucky and get that one wow shot.
