"Katrien Spekken" This is a small old candy shop, the photo was taken in 1988 and the old man in the picture continued the shop after the death of his wife. They used to make the candy themselves in the little room behind the man. They had the best candy in town. I have known them ever since I was a child and still remember the tast of the candy.

Location
This photo was taken in my hometime Ghent, the shop is long gone, but it was extremely tiny.Time
The picture was taken in the afternoon, on a day that there was enough daylight to cover the dark shop.Lighting
I prefer to work with daylight only.Equipment
I didn't use a tripod and the camera was an analog Nikon FM2Inspiration
I try to take photos of things and people before they disappear, so they will be remembered. In this case, the man is the husband of the shopkeeper, but she passed away a while before I took this photo. He kept the shop with homemade candy open as long as he could.Editing
The photo was analogue, I scanned it but didn't post-process.In my camera bag
These days I have a Nikon D780 and a Nikon D300, but also a Lumix and my cell phone a Samsung.Feedback
give people time to relax, before you shoot a picture. Look for the little things in life.
