Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the western (Tucson Mountains) district of Saguaro National Park in Tucson, Arizona.

Time

The photo was taken in the early morning. The Night-blooming Queen of the Night cactus blooms once each year. I was hoping the blossom would still be open, but I was too late. It had already closed up.

Lighting

Morning light is great, especially in the desert.

Equipment

An iPhone! It's pretty much all I have.

Inspiration

I saw the bee, and thought I'd give it a try.

Editing

A little bit of editing in Photoshop, just to bring the colors back to what I think I saw as opposed to what the camera captured.

In my camera bag

What bag?

Feedback

Look for opportunities, and try for the shot. The nice thing about digital is you now can take hundreds of shots. The law of averages says you'll get something good sometimes.
