Behind The Lens

Location

The photo I was taken in my garden, from a withered log, what was in the garden all winter and the weather left a little mark on it.

Time

It was taken in the spring, early afternoon.

Lighting

Made in clear weather, in the early afternoon sun.

Equipment

I took photos with a close-up setting, with Canon EOS M10 camera + 18-150 ef-m lens.

Inspiration

I’ve always loved the interesting shape of natural and withered trees, the decaying tree bark, their veins, and the fungi that live on them.. Strange world, the "second life" of trees... And this has a very special color veins and shape, but it no longer has any bark at all. He shows himself naked.

Editing

I saw half of the dog's face in the tree, therefore, I mirrored the image vertically, and the "wooden dog" is ready. The contour and saturation were subsequently slightly amplified.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS M10 camera + 18-150 ef-m lens.

Feedback

It is a good idea to use a close-up setting to take such images due to the blurred background. Sunlight is important, and excellent, sharp raw photo, but for the sake of a special effect, the sharpness, contour, and saturation sometimes worth it a little afterwards. (Post processing.) Reflection of interesting shapes sometimes it produces surprising results
