Useing my Canon Rbel XSi, I captured this double bloom at night, as it only lasts a day and starts withering.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo outside my front yard at the night it bloomed, in Tucson, AZ

Time

Night tine

Lighting

This cacti blooms once each year and for 1 night and starts withering. I was not expecting it to open fully that evening, and I happen to be home that evening, tending to my small front yard garden in the desert.

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS XSi with Canon EF-S 55-250 mm lens. Hand held , with flash.

Inspiration

To see, feel and experience such an exquisite flower bloom but once a year , despite the hot desert heat, I felt inspired to share its beauty.

Editing

No, I just zoomed in, focused and took the shot.

In my camera bag

I carry my Canon Rebel XSi with the Canon Zoom lens EF-S 55-250mm and Canon EFS 18-55 mm lens, I also used and IPhone 5 and 6S, Samsung Galaxy 9 for photos.

Feedback

I'm still and Amatuer when it comes to knowing the specifics of my shots, I must admit I've used a lot of automatic settings. I am one of those that see scenes and I just take the shot and some turns out pretty awesome. I shoot what feels good...
