Behind The Lens

Location

I clicked this picture at Hogenakkal. This place is the border between two states of India.

Time

My visit to this place was on a sunny day . It was around 3 pm when i reached this place after a 45 minutes coracle ride along river Cauvery.

Lighting

It was a very very bright day . Hence i had to wait for an hour until the sunlight came a bit down . Also i had to use grey filters so that i could have a little bit of long exposure effect. After all the wait and filters i was able to achieve only this much of slow shutter speed.

Equipment

Canon 5d Mark iii , with 24-70mm EF lens on a Vanguard Tripod

Inspiration

I had a chance to visit this place during my childhood when there was not much water ( considering the season ). I have seen tis place with ample water in movies . So always thought about visiting during the right time and waited until August-September when the water flow is nice.

Editing

I had to develop the RAW and then work on exposure and contrast. also had to slightly modify the temperature and white balance to get this finish .

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon 5d mark III alone with 24-70 and 70-200 lens. depending on the palce i visit , i sometimes carry my 100mm macro and 50mm . other than these essentials, i have my battery, SD cards, cleaning kit in my camera bag

Feedback

Being a beginner, i don't have much to adivse. may be as a suggestion all i could say is never to limit on try various perspectives . We never know which one gives the best appearance .
