After our photo session was over Alex and I would often mess around with chaotic ideas with no care of what people think. We came up with this idea. Ripped brand new shirt with tattoo added later in photoshop.

Location
I took this photo in my home studio, located in Ottawa OntarioTime
I remember this shoot very well. Alex and I where in the height of our experimenting. This was shot almost 13 years ago to the day, 03/22/2008 05:58:57.Lighting
As normally done with my shoot, I try to work with the models shadows, I'm interested in more of what we can't see rather than what we can see. There is a whole world hidden in shadow waiting to be brought out.Equipment
This was shot using a Nikon D80 camera.Inspiration
The model who I was working with, Alex, didn't have any tatoos. So the idea was to create the illusion that under her shirt, ripped open, was this crazy tattoo. So we make 'templates' of her bare back for me to later retouch it by adding a tattoo.Editing
Having given me many templates of her bare skin to work with, it was a simple proceedure to issolate her skin and create a realistic effect. Using photoshop. In my camera bag
I don't use a bag. I travel very light. Two portable lights and a camera over my shoulder is all I need.Feedback
Take many many pictures using different angles and shadow effects. It's the shadows that give the effect depth.
