Wonderful detail, capture and image. I can't get over how much the face looks like orange peel. Well done.

Behind The Lens

Location

Took this picture in the woods near Oldenzaal in the Netherlands.

Time

This picture was taken in the afternoon (12:01). On a nice sunny day in the shadow.

Lighting

I'm still struggle with the lightning. But in this picture i used a MT - 24EX Macro twin lite flash with paper between the lightning and plastic diffuser.

Equipment

This was shot on a canon 5D mark 3. The lens i used a Canon MP-E 65mm and flash was MT - 24EX Macro twin lite.

Inspiration

I like wasp and hornets for there colors and appearance. Lot of people hate them and i try to show how beautiful they are. They are also beneficial for our nature as they keep insect pest in control.

Editing

Shooted in raw and manually build the picture in lighroom 6.

In my camera bag

If is see insects i go out with the canon 5d mark 3 (lens mp-e 65mm, flash mt- 24ex macro twin lite). If not i take my canon 6D mark2 with fisheye 8-15mm to bend the lines i can find.

Feedback

Well first of all i have to say my english is bad. So i trying. First look how strong the wind is windforce 3 is in my eye's maximum. Then when you see a insect try to aproach really slow like ultra slow also try to make no sound. Watch your shadow if its near the insect it can become anxious. Try to shoot on the same height as the insect and stay patience.
