The photo was taken in the afternoon with harsh sunlight (see the shadow in the wall behind the model) that was partially blocked by a wall.Lighting
The wall behind the model is grey-white and was used as a natural reflector to reduce the contrast. The model had a good skin, so the harsh light was not a problem. A hand-held reflector was used.Equipment
Shot with a Canon 6D on loan (my 5DII broke down during the shoot) with a Canon 85mm 1.8. A handheld reflector was used.Inspiration
My plan was to go black and white. I began the shoot with the model wearing a red dress, but in post I was never pleased with the contrast during the conversion. I loved the light effect of the white wall on the (very white) skin of the model.Editing
Nothing too fancy. Basic LR conversion to B&W PS with NIK to clean the skin and some light Dodge and burning.In my camera bag

Harsh light can pose problems: skin, contrast, ... Reflectors can help and are easier to use than fill-in flash, because their effect is more visible.
