Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Sinai Desert in Egypt - early in the morning!! We had embarked upon a desert safari - this was our first "stop".

Time

This image was taken early morning in 35 degree Celsius heat before 9 am. This particular year the country was enduring a "heatwave" with temperatures of 50 + degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

Lighting

There is nothing to add when it comes to the lighting really - it was incredibly bright sunshine for so early in the morning. The sun gave me the right background lighting - so for that I am thankful.

Equipment

The camera I use is an Olympus Stylus with 40 x zoom in full HD. That was it.

Inspiration

To be brutally honest, the only thing that really inspired me to take the picture was that I wanted to see what was on the other side of the hill! I ran up the hill to see what was on the other side, and this was the view - too good to miss!

Editing

I didn't do any post processing on this shot at all.

In my camera bag

In my phot bag, I have an Olympus Stylus 40x zoom in Full HD, spare batteries, a Canon Sure shot back up camera as well as a spare HD card - usually use 32 Gig cards. Also, have a weatherproof cover for both bag and camera.

Feedback

I would suggest that if anyone visits countries with temperatures such as these, I would recommend taking photographs early in the morning! Fifty degree heat does not agree with either the photographer or the camera!!
