Location
This photo was taken during a Birds of Prey Photo Shoot at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center - Milwaukee, WiTime
It was taken mid morningLighting
It was a fairly good day for outdoor photography, as it was a little overcast.Equipment
This was shot with the Olympus OMD-M1 Mark 2 and the 50-200mm 4/3 lens.Inspiration
I really like photographing the large owls. I love their large eyes and feet.Editing
Oh yes, there was quite a bit of post processing done to get this final image. Some people may not like this type of photo manipulation but I totally enjoy creating a piece of art from an otherwise ordinary photo. After the normal photo adjustments of dehaze, denoise and highlight and shadow adjustments I replaced the cluttered background with an artsy textured background. Using layers and masking, the owl is blended into the background. Layers of burning and sharpening complete the process for added depth and contrast. I use PSE 2018 for my pp.In my camera bag
I shoot Olympus, the OMD-1-2 and I just picked up the - 3 a month ago. Love both of them! My go to lens for years has been the Zuiko 50-200mm F2.8-3.5. it is an older 4/3 lens so I need the adapter to fit the micro cameras that I now have. If shooting macro I use the Zuiko 50mm F2.0 lens, again with an adapter. These are the 2 lenses that I use most often. I also have 75mm F1.8, 40-150 F4-5.6, 75-150 F4.8-6.7, 11-22 F2.0 in my bag.Feedback
There are numerous websites and YouTube videos out there on how to create artwork from your photos. They are very informative. It is a lot of fun. But a word of caution... It is very addictive! Hope you give it a try.
