The Frisco-Bagley Mill is located 12 miles out of Silverton in California Gulch at 11,400 feet elevation. The Frisco Mill was designed and built to be completely modern in 1912 and was totally electric.
The Frisco Mill was a massive post and beam construction with timber joints carrying an identifying letter and number location code. The timbers were originally cut, fitted and numbered at the San Juan Lumber yard. Construction crews assembled the framing of the pre-cut and pre-fit pieces in proper order and sequence based on the location code at the mills present location. None of these framing needed cut on site.
