I took this photo in my backyard. The Iris is my most favourite flower and they just grow randomly around my garden. The deep purple is mesmerizing.Time
I took this one just before sunset when I spotted it hidden behind my gate and amongst some other foliage.Lighting
Hand held image. Exposure time 1/60th, F5, ISO 400. I am pretty sure I used the flash as well then did a little processing in Photoshop to reach my end result.Equipment
This was shot on my very first dslr camera which was a Canon 1000d. Some of my most favourite images so far were also taken by me with that camera. Flash used. No tripod.Inspiration
I love just going outside and seeing what I can find in my yard. The Iris being my favourite flower, I couldn't resist the opportunity to capture a few images.Editing
I created this image 9 years ago so not exactly sure exactly how I processed this one as I was just still learning. I would have no doubt added a filter, played with hdr processing and the vibrance. I have a feeling I put a gradiant around the edge too.In my camera bag
Recently I have in my bag and ready to go, my Canon 60d,, 18mm-200mm canon lens, 2 x portable external flash units with umbrellas, tripod, way too many batteries as you can never have too many right. :) spare sd cards and a set of reflectors. My light saber sword is always close by too as I am really enjoying light painting at the moment.Feedback
Always be ready to capture the perfect shot. Look in hidden places where others won't usually look and get down low and change your whole perspective on the world. When I'm in my garden I like to think and look at the world like a fairy would..xox..
