Location
I took this photo at a small abandoned car lot a few miles down the road from my house. I knew the old owner had a couple of limos years ago, but didn’t know they still existed. After a tip from one of my friends, I decided to stop and investigate....sure enough, there this old limo sat. I’m a huge car nut, and I especially like old limos. When I saw the state of decay this old car was in, I had to take some photos of it. Luckily, the passenger door of the car was unlocked so I was able to get some really nice shots of the interior, that’s how I got this lovely photo of the driver’s compartment!Time
I took this photo in February, around 3:00 in the afternoon. It wasn’t extremely cold that day, but the snakes and other creepy crawly things hadn’t come out yet!Lighting
The lighting this day wasn’t particularly great, it was very overcast, in fact, if I remember correctly it started raining a short time after I left the lot! Normally I don’t like this type of lighting to take pictures in, but this drab, dreary day fit perfectly with the sad state this once proud limousine was in.Equipment
Okay, I must confess, I had nothing special here, I took these photos on the fly. I used nothing more than my Apple iPhone XSMax. The flash never fired if I remember right, no tripods, fancy lenses, etc.Inspiration
This is automobile history right here. The stories that old car could tell if it could talk. I will never be able to save it in real life, I don’t have the time, resources, or space to do so; however I can preserve it for all time in photographs!Editing
No post-processing here, this was the raw image uploaded straight from my phone! In my camera bag
With my hectic, crazy life/schedule I rarely (if ever) carry a professional camera and bag with me. My trusty iPhone however, is with me all the time. I keep my lens clean and ready to go all the time!Feedback
Sometimes, the most random, unplanned shots are the best. I’ve taken plenty of staged photos, and while they’re great, I’d rather grab the random, unexpected shot any time!
