Fallen Apple Trees On an erie Backroad in Maine makes for an interesting photo. First snow squall of season. If you look at the photo, the Raven seems to be sitting on the fingers of hand and to the right, there seems to be a runniung horse.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a apple orchid on Maine

Time

This was early October, It was very cold and windy. All of sudden a snow squawl came up from seems like nowhere. Being that fall colors were still great and the fallen tree with the Raven just added to the photo. The Storm was very intense for about five minutes really not a long time to take photos.

Lighting

The lighting was tough because of Sunlight mixed with intense Snow. This is not a composite photo. Single shot only. I had only 3 photos or so to choose to process.

Equipment

No time for setup, this was a "Grab Shot" I use Sony Cameras with Sigma lens. No Flash. Camera was set on manual mode. Lens was a 300mm, subject was aprox 75yards.

Inspiration

With the Quick storm, fallen trees and the Raven added to this Surreal oppertunity for a photo. If you look deeper into the picture differnt things start to appear. You can see a fleeing horse in the background. Also, the Raven seems to be setting on a hand of bones.

Editing

This Photo is almost right out of the Camera, just a little color intensity was added. Photo was cropped a little from side to side.

In my camera bag

With this trio to the Farm just my Sony Camera and a 28-300mm lens.

Feedback

Photo oppertunities are all around us. Lot's of folks don't like to venture out in adverse weather at all. For me it's the best time. trying looking at what's not the subject but whats around it. sometimes backgrounds are just as important for a grat picture.
