Location
Norway is one of my favourite places for travel and landscape photography. As a professional photo tour organiser and Nikon brand ambassador, i have the chance to travel all over the world but i consider Norway one of the most mesmerising place to discover the beauty of the earth. This shot was made in 2018 in march in Lofoten archipelago .Time
Over the fisherman village of Reine the sunset looks promising for a great shoot. After 3 days of bad whether the sky was starting to get clear and preparing for a night of another great spectacle of Northern Light .Lighting
As the place was getting crowded with group of photographers the sunset light starting to show the beauty of this place and i decided to fly my drone to get the best angle for he scene.Equipment
This was shot with a DJI Phantom Pro Advanced drone .Inspiration
It is obvious why I decided to take this photo. The village of Reine is a unique place in the world where the greatness of nature is absolutely unmatched. It creates the feeling that you go back in time to the beginnings of the earth's creationEditing
Post-processing was minimal and was done in Lightroom. I made some colour brightness adjustments but also colour balance, contrast, hue and saturationIn my camera bag
My camera bag contains two cameras. One main camera Nikon Z7 and one secondary for backup Nikon D810. It is ideal when going to distant places to be sure that you do not have unpleasant surprises. The objectives are the classic ones for landscapes. Nikon prime lens 20mm f 1.8, Nikon 24-70 mm f4, Nikon 70-200mm f4. I replaced the DJI drone with Autel Evo 2Pro which is much smaller and give me the chance to take 6K video and also replacing with the 8K himbal head when i want. The tripod is indispensable in my travels. I also have a set of circular polarisation filters, ND filters of 9 and 10 stops but also a set of gradual 3 ND filters from Formatt-Hitech . For motion timelapse sequences I use a Moza Slypod and MOZA AirCross 2 gimbal. I know there is too much equipment but everyone has their purpose .Feedback
My advice for fellow photographers is to be patient and anticipate the perfect moment. I leave home and imagine the photo i am going to take. Landscape photography is like fishing. You go ready for the big catch and you never know what you're going home with. It's all about the consistency of each of us. As long as we are ready to wait for the best light and the best moment, satisfaction is in line with our expectations.
