Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in a friends garden in Florida, Orlando. While visiting on vacation.Time
It was early morning and I was sitting on the deck overlooking this amazing garden and noticed an abundance of butterflies. I decided to go into the garden and bring my camera hoping to catch a few good shots of these beautiful creatures.Lighting
The lighting was perfect. It was early morning sun that seem to light up everything in the scene. The light was not too harsh. It was just right. The Golden hours.Equipment
Camera Canon EOS 10 D , aperture, F8, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/100 focal length 70/1 . Lens was a Sigma 24 to 70. I used golden reflector also used a Bogen tripodInspiration
I was inspired by all the beautiful butterflies in this garden. So I decided to take a walk through the garden with my camera gear try to capture some of these beautiful creatures in the early morning sun. I managed to get quite a few photos, but this was my favorite.Editing
I cropped the photo and increased a little saturation and contrast to this image that was about itIn my camera bag
I usually have two Canon camera bodies a 7D Mark two and a 6D Mark two, I recently sold my other two camera bodies. I also carry a 8 mm fisheye lens, a Canon 28 to 300 mm lens and a Canon 100 to 400 mm with a 1×4 Canon extender series 3. Also carry a Canon flash a 17 to 35 mm wide-angle lens, macro extensions. S D cards batteries and charger also asserted filters and cleaning utensils.Feedback
Having the proper lens and equipment necessary to get the image you want. I prefer early morning sun late afternoon sun for shots of this type. I also like to use a tripod so I can use a lower shutter speed. This way it keeps the grain lower, which increases the sharpness of the photo. By keeping everything stable helps with photo clarity also. Of course it's definitely a plus to have good glass, having good glass I think is more important than the actual camera body. So if I had to choose, I would choose better glass than a better camera body.
