This is an image of the sun before the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017. The sun appears like a large orange ball in the sky while using a specialty solar filter for capturing the light without damaging the sensor. While you can’t tell from the image, several minutes after this photo was shot, the sun started to slowly disappear behind the moon.
