One of the first solo backpacking trips I took was a 2+ week trek across Iceland. When I left I didn’t know how to to pitch a tent, use a camping stove, or had any survival skills beyond what the discovery channel had taught me. But I needed to get away, and wasn’t going to let a few “minor” details get in the way. I returned home with a new outlook on life, my career, and my future.
