I took this photo in a school where our church meets every week. I'm the youth leader and i was teaching a photography honor to the group. I took this picture as an example and it turned out to be one of my best shots.Time
I took this in a lovely Saturday afternoon while i was teaching a photography honor to a youth group.Lighting
I was trying to demonstrate how to take pictures with harsh sunlight and i used a covered sitting area for shade. It is surrounded by these small squares which i ended up using to shoot through to get this image.Equipment
I used a Canon 80d with a 50mm Sigma lens. No tripod or flash were used.Inspiration
Well, i love photography and i love portraits. I like to find interesting subjects to shoot. I know this really cool kid and thought that he could be the perfect example for the kind of mood i was looking to get to demonstrate to the youth group i was teaching.Editing
I only made some basic adjustments in lightroom (exposure, contrast and hue mostly)In my camera bag
Canon 80d, Sigma 50mm 1.4 art, Canon 24mm 2.8, speedlight, wireless triggerFeedback
Shooting through something usually makes a more interesting image than just shooting something as you normally would. If i hadn't shot this trough the square the image wouldn't be as good as it turned out to be
