Location
This was a parking lot outside of Fairbanks Alaska. I could not drive all the way on it as the snow was to high. So i parked a little bit on the side and walked the rest. It was a cold night and just 30 min before i took this picture somebody else ask me if the lights will come tonight. So i told him it is nature and hard to predict. But than the lights appeared on the sky and i heared the people cheering.Time
It was somewhen between 10pm and 1 am.Lighting
I tried several option. The combination of ISO and shutter speed.Equipment
Nikon D850 with a 14-24 mm 2.8 sure a tripod.Inspiration
The lights itself are fascinating, so they are always an inspiration for me. But it is not done with having them on the memory card. May Be the net picture is even better. So go out and try again.Editing
I did some steps in Lightroom. But it is always something else you have to change that you are satisfied. In my camera bag
Usually i have 2 camera bodies with me. 3 or 4 lenses a trigger release and some filters. Important batteries and memory cards. Something to drink and a snack if it takes a little bit longer.Feedback
Never try to get the lights on on single night. You may be lucky but better is you have more nights. Check the weather too and at the internet some aurora forecast pages. Stay on it the way is the goal. Good luck!
