A hatchling common snapping turtle prepares to start her life in the wild. Our Tufts Wildlife Clinic raises baby turtles from any eggs recovered or laid by injured patients, then hatches them and returns them to the wild. This baby common snapper, if it's lucky, could grow to 70 pounds and live almost 50 yrs. Our small effort tries to offset all the turtles killed by cars, boats, pets, fishing hooks, development and other human activities.
