Wow, I'm honoured to be included as one of the finalists in the Shapes of Ice contest. So many incredible photographers! Your work is truly inspiring.

Location
This image was captured on my back deck on a particularly frigid day winter day in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We had been experiencing a few weeks with daytime highs of -30 degrees celsius. I wanted to take a stab at freezing bubbles. I liked this one. It was very small, but the random frozen details of it seemed science fiction to me. Almost like a tiny planet or moon and since this was lit by only the sun due to it being very clear and bright, Other World's seemed like a fitting title.Time
During the middle of the day.Lighting
Our very own sun.Equipment
Canon 5D, Tripod and macro extension tubes on a 55-200mm zoom lens. Natural light during the coldest day imaginable. Winnipeg cold!Inspiration
It was cold. I wanted to photograph some frozen bubbles. It's that simple.Editing
Just some clarity and detail adjustments. In my camera bag
I like to carry a camera and a few lenses and a few speed lights. Sorry for the blunt response, however, it doesn't really much matter what I have because it is changing and adapts do the different situations I throw myself into.Feedback
There isn't much that I can offer here for inspiration that hasn't be said already. But, I've come to realize that waiting for the shot to come to you doesn't work, you need to go out and create it yourself.
