Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in January 2019 in Old Lyme, Connecticut. I drove a delivery truck and regularly found photo opportunities during the course of my day.

Time

It was about 2~3:30pm

Lighting

I love backlit photos and especially ones with blowing sea grasses in them. Shooting into to the sun delivers a bit more drama to many B&W images.

Equipment

These days it is iPhones exclusively! This one taken with a 8 which I truly loved and recently, learning and loving the 12!

Inspiration

Love for the handiness of the iPhone and always searching for an interesting composition.

Editing

I love editing almost as much as capturing and being in the place and time of an interesting photo composition. I use Lightroom Classic, Luminar and ON1. In this particular image after color desaturation, added the much needed moon in Photoshop. Sorry if you’re disappointed because you thought the moon was real.

In my camera bag

iPhone, tripod and an adjustable ND clamp on filter.

Feedback

Get out there and take lots of photos, learn and experiment with different editing software and have a blast!
