Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in Ramona, CA. We were on a trip with friends that were showing us the area because they had relatives from Ramona. I asked them to pull over because I saw the sign for Hope street.Time
We had been driving around looking at the area and had just come down from the mountains. The friends we were with were reflecting on his childhood in California and visits to see relatives in the area. This was early afternoon and I just happened to notice the street sign.Lighting
There really wasn't anything remarkable about the lighting. Cloudy and during midday.Equipment
The camera was a Fujifilm XT20 with a 18-55 lens.Inspiration
The row of beat up mail boxes reminded of the photo "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea Lange because of the struggles of that era. To me the photo expresses despair and hope and the same time and anticipation of something better.Editing
Yes, I was using Luminar for processing. I wanted to create an almost surreal view of the image and at the same time an expression of hope that was on the street sign.In my camera bag
I currently have a Fujifilm XT3. My lenses are 18-55mm F2.8, 10-24mm F4, 35mmF2, 70-300mm F4-5.6,Feedback
